SOFT CIRCUITS for Non-verbal Communication (collaboration) Anthony Kharrat
SoftCry is a parent alert system in the form of child’s toy. Unlike the standard child alert system, this toy allows the child to communicate an intense emotion of any sort (i.e. fever, nightmare, tummy ache, etc.) with the use of a hug.
The system is meant to be used during sleep mode and comprises of a hug-sensitive fluffy object connected wirelessly to an tricolor LED structure in the parents’ bedroom. As the child squeezes the toy, the LED changes colors on the blue to red spectrum according to the intensity of the squeezing.
